Last few tickets available for Tony Furtado!

We’re looking forward to welcoming the stunningly talented Tony Furtado to Yorkshire next week. This versatile musician is particularly celebrated for his work on banjo and slide guitar. Born in California but now based in Portland, Oregon, Tony has toured worldwide since the 1990s, playing his captivating brand of Americana and acoustic roots both solo and with his band.  He’s on a rare visit to the UK in support of his latest album The Cider House Sessions, and we’re very lucky to have booked him for a gig in Meltham, Huddersfield. Tony will be playing solo and will also be accompanied by accomplished singer-songwriter Stephanie Schneiderman. Stephanie will also perform a short opening set.

I first met Tony Furtado when I was studying in his banjo class at the fabled Sore Fingers bluegrass music camp back in 2010. I also got to see him perform on stage there and at a subsequent concert near Manchester. I was absolutely stunned by his spectacular playing and his wonderful singing voice. He doesn’t get over to the UK very often and so I’m delighted that he and Stephanie have agreed to come and perform for us. The Carlile Institute in Meltham is a community owned venue, perfect for intimate concerts. There will be a licensed bar. We’ve already sold 90% of the tickets, so grab yours now if you want to join us. It’s going to be another full house for another fantastic night of live music at The Carlile!

Doors 7:30pm, concert from 8pm.

Advance tickets £10. On sale in Meltham at the Library and Café 33. Also available online here (note 10% booking fee online):
