Award-winning Canadian bluegrass band The Slocan Ramblers return in September 2022 for their fourth UK tour. Combining superlative musicianship and catchy songs with an appealing stage presence, this sensational quartet has long been a leading light of Canada’s roots music scene. The Slocans have established a stellar reputation as a barnstorming live band, gigging and touring almost constantly across North America and Europe over the last decade. Their third album, Queen City Jubilee, gained a prestigious 2019 JUNO Award Nomination and won Traditional Album of the Year at the 2020 Canadian Folk Music Awards. The Slocan Ramblers also won the International Bluegrass Music Association’s 2020 Momentum Band Award.
“The band have gained an enviable reputation, creating an audaciously dynamic sound that, whilst firmly rooted in tradition, has never been afraid to push the envelope ” – Folk Radio UK
After an enforced pause due to the pandemic, in 2021 the band got back in the studio, recommenced touring, and their brand new album Up The Hill and Through the Fog was released in June 2022. Several members also participated in a number of other warmly received musical projects (Adrian with the Adeline old-time band. and Frank releasing a JUNO-nominated duo album with fiddler Ben Plotnick). The Slocan Ramblers have been busy gigging across the USA and Canada again since summer 2021, also making a brief foray to headline the Bluegrass Omagh festival in Northern Ireland this May. With their new album receiving glowing reviews everywhere, the Slocans can’t wait to return to the UK this September to share their new music and delight audiences.
