I’m so pleased to announce that the inimitable Seattle-based roots duo Cahalen Morrison & Eli West will be returning to Sheffield later this year. They’ll be touring the UK in the autumn and we’re delighted to be hosting them at The Greystones on Friday 9th September. Cahalen & Eli were the first act we promoted at True North Music and their January 2015 concert was a sell-out as well as being a fantastic night of quality music.
First getting together as a duo in 2010, these two highly gifted musicians have recorded three acclaimed albums together so far. The blend of their voices is outstanding and “brother” harmonies are an important characteristic of many of their songs. The other great ingredients of high quality musicianship (on mandolin, guitar and clawhammer banjo) and excellent songwriting (primarily by Cahalen) make these guys a cut above the rest. They draw on many of the elements of old time country, bluegrass and folk but their music has its own distinctive, mellow flavour. They’ve toured the UK regularly over the last four or five years and we can’t wait to welcome them back to The Greystones! More details and ticket link to come later in the year.
