As well as hosting the finest American touring musicians, True North Music is proud to promote some of the top UK talent playing acoustic roots music. One of the very best young bands operating in the genre is the Cheshire/Lancashire trio Jaywalkers, former BBC Young Folk Award finalists. We’re long term fans of the band here at True North Towers and we’ve been trying to book them for ages! Jaywalkers’ distinctive blend of folk and bluegrass with a touch of jazz draws on a wide range of influences, bringing the best of traditional music together with their own superb original songwriting. Mike Giverin (mandolin/guitar), Jay Bradberry (fiddle/guitar) and Lucy Williams (double bass) are all extremely accomplished musicians and in my opinion Jay has one of the finest voices on the contemporary folk scene – smoky, rich and full of emotional depth.
Now with three albums under their belts and veterans of countless live performances, Jaywalkers are a class act. The concert promises to be an entertaining, foot stomping evening and is not to be missed! Join us at The LBT in Huddersfield this Saturday, 27th February. Doors 7:30pm for an 8pm start.
