I’m excited to announce an upcoming concert by American/British trio Brother Mule on Saturday 10th December. Superb American musicians Ben Winship (mandolin/guitar/vocals) and Brian Wicklund (fiddle) will be joined by one of the UK’s top double bass players, the versatile Ben Somers. All these guys are absolutely top notch musicians, and you might have seen them perform with some of their other regular bands including Growling Old Men, The Peregrines (formerly Gordy/Somers/Walsh) and the Barley Jacks. Brother Mule play an eclectic blend of American roots music with elements of bluegrass, Celtic folk, Western Swing and old time Americana. They’re also fabulously entertaining guys, and the whole evening is sure to be great fun. Find out more about Brother Mule here
Last month saw the first True North Music concert (British band Tilter Wheel) at the Carlile Institute, and I’m delighted to welcome Brother Mule to this lovely venue. It’s a beautiful 19th Century building in the heart of Meltham, close to Huddersfield and Holmfirth, and within easy reach of Leeds and Manchester. There’s a free car park behind the building and buses stop right outside. My friends at Meltham Community Hub are great hosts, and there will be a licensed bar and a friendly welcome! Advance tickets £10. Available locally in Meltham at the Library, Cafe 33 and the Flower Box, and online at wegottickets.com
