I just wanted to add a brief update following last Friday’s concert featuring Sierra Hull. Sierra and her duo partner, double bassist Ethan Jodciewicz were simply breathtaking musicians and the quality of their performance was pretty much out of this world. The sell-out crowd at Hepworth Village Hall was treated to something extremely special, as expected, and the uniformly high standard of True North Music’s programme was definitely maintained! I’ve had so many messages from folk saying how stunned they were by the quality of the music, this one from music lover Sue is typical of the comments I received…
We had the great privilege to see Sierra Hull & Ethan Jodziewicz at Hepworth Village Hall last night. A truly special evening. Thanks to Maria for bringing them here!
It was a really special evening of music, with local heroes Jonny & Simon from Tilter Wheel serving up an excellent opening set and then getting invited back to join Sierra and Ethan for the encore, where all four musicians romped through a couple of bluegrass standards. Thanks to everyone who came and packed out the room for this concert, including some special guests from Barnsley way (as Sierra had been doing a little bit of last minute recording for Damien O’Kane and Kate Rusby that afternoon). Special thanks go to our lovely friend and sound engineer Peter Earle, for another sterling job on sound.
You won’t have to wait long for another superb evening of music with the amazing banjo and guitar player Tony Furtado visiting us on Saturday 22nd July for a concert at The Carlile Institute in Meltham, Huddersfield. You can book tickets here, but be quick, they are going fast already – word has got out that we only ever book absolutely top notch musicians for our concerts!
In the meantime here’s a little clip of Sierra & Ethan in action last week.
