The Railsplitters are a high calibre modern acoustic five piece playing a unique blend of Americana, bluegrass and folk. Performing mostly original material, the band initially found recognition as winners of the prestigious band competition at the huge Rockygrass festival. Since then their star has risen rapidly and they have toured extensively across the world, including well received UK tours in 2015 and 2016. The Railsplitters have recorded three acclaimed albums to date; their latest, Jump In, was released in November 2017. The band’s music is a quirky, creative and modern version of bluegrass and acoustic roots, underpinned by outstanding musicianship and songwriting. The line-up features Mississippi-born Lauren Stovall and her luminous vocals in the lead, Dusty Rider’s melodically intricate banjo licks, Peter Sharpe’s Brazilian and bluesy flair on mandolin, Joe D’Esposito’s New England and Italian-inspired fiddling and newest recruit, the ever-so-groovy Jean-Luc Davis on the double bass.
