Exceptional modern Americana and folk/roots from Scotland
Now booking UK tour dates for Nov/Dec 2018
True North Music is delighted to welcome our first UK booking client, The Jellyman’s Daughter. We specialise in American style roots music and we’re inundated with acclaimed American and Canadian artists wanting to work with us, so that tells you something about how special this artist is! The Jellyman’s Daughter blend Americana, folk/roots and a touch of bluegrass and pop to bring you an original but beguiling musical landscape. Mixing their gorgeous, haunting vocal harmonies with wild and visceral cello, driving guitar and sweet mandolin, Emily Kelly and Graham Coe (also a member of Sam Kelly & the Lost Boys) are exceptional performers and songwriters.
The Jellyman’s Daughter have gigged extensively in the UK, Europe and Canada, and also showcased at Folk Alliance International in Kansas City in 2016 and 2017. The release of their debut self-titled album in 2014 saw them receive a huge amount of critical acclaim, and reviewers unanimously agreed that something remarkably appealing had burst on to the UK acoustic scene. In 2017, The Jellyman’s Daughter spent much of the year working on their second album, “Dead Reckoning” (also featuring Jamie Francis on banjo) and 2018 will see the official release of the album and tours of the UK, Europe, USA and Canada, sustaining the momentum that has earned the band exceptional praise so far.
“When Kelly and Coe sing together, their harmonies squeeze the heart… outstanding” – The Herald
“All songs stand alone with no weak links… classy stuff ‐ a great future awaits” – Americana UK
We’re delighted to be working with the band to book UK dates for late November and early December 2018, ideally as the full trio (including banjo) or possibly four-piece (adding double bass) to convey the powerful full band sound of the new album. The Jellyman’s Daughter also has a captivating live presence in their duo format, and band format can be flexible based on your venue and requirements.
