Exceptional, award-winning acoustic roots from Boston
Mile Twelve is an outstandingly talented quintet that’s been steadily conquering the USA roots music scene over the last few years. They can shred with the best of them on a footstomping bluegrass standard, and the next minute deliver an evocative original that blurs genre boundaries. This engaging band delivers breathtaking live performances with outstanding musicianship and sweet vocal harmonies. Their material includes a sprinkling of re-imagined traditional songs and creative covers as well as their fine original material. Mile Twelve have performed extensively throughout the USA, Canada, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand and Australia, and won New Artist of the Year at the 2020 IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) Awards.
With their second album, these rising stars filter current events through the timeless lens of traditional American music.” – The Bluegrass Situation
The quintet is packed with musical experience and award winning talent, with three members from the Eastern USA alongside a Texan and a New Zealander. Co-founders Evan Murphy (guitar/vocals), Catherine “BB” Bowness (banjo/vocals) and Nate Sabat (double bass/vocals) formed the band in Boston back in 2014 and along with newest additions Ella Jordan (fiddle/vocals) and Korey Brodsky (mandolin/vocals) have a wealth of performing and recording experience under their belts. Together, the members of Mile Twelve have hit upon a winningly entertaining formula, with their third full length album due for release later in 2022 following up acclaimed 2019 release City On A Hill and their 2020 covers EP, Roll the Tapes All Night Long, which features all-star guests including Billy Strings and Bruce Molsky.
